Oklahoma has for a long time been analogous with Bingo. That is because the American Indian bands of Oklahoma have provided Bingo games for years. Patrons from many of the neighboring states get in automobiles and travel to Oklahoma to bet on Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 IGRA became law after a precedent setting determination by The U.S. Supreme Court the year before. Since that instance, twenty three of the 39 Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have introduced bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma American Indian tribes to take advantage of the gaming laws, and today run 10 gambling dens of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned gambling halls were built on. digital games like slot machines were not allowed, because they are believed to contribute to gambling addiction at a higher rate than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma law have changed to permit large Indian betting casinos. You’ll now see Indian gambling dens with slots, video poker and 21 tables. Craps and roulette are not approved in the American Indian casinos yet, however this is simply a matter of time. Nobody can authority what having different games in the bingo parlors will do for the popularity of bingo.
