Oklahoma has long been synonymous with Bingo. This is because the Amerindian tribes of Oklahoma have run Bingo games for ages. Patrons from every one of the surrounding states load up in automobiles and visit Oklahoma to play Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) became law after a precedent setting decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. Since that instance, 23 of the 39 Native bands of Oklahoma have established bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Amerindian tribes to take advantage of the gambling restrictions, and today operate 10 gambling dens of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned gambling dens were built on. Electronic games like slots weren’t authorized, due to the fact that they’re believed to lead to gambling addiction at a higher rate than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma rules have altered to permit gigantic Native betting gambling dens. You’ll now see American Indian gambling dens with slot machines, video poker and 21 tables. Craps and roulette are not yet allowed in the Amerindian casinos yet, but that is simply a waiting game. No one can determine what having different casino games in the bingo houses will do for the appeal of bingo.
