Oklahoma has for a long time been synonymous with Bingo. That is because the Native bands of Oklahoma have operated Bingo sessions for ages. Guests from all of the neighboring states get in vans and travel to Oklahoma to enjoy Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 IGRA became law after a landmark ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. From that instance, twenty three of the thirty nine American Indian bands of Oklahoma have introduced gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Indian tribes to take advantage of the gaming rules, and at this time control ten gambling dens of their own. Bingo was the game on which these gambling halls were built on. computerized games like slots weren’t allowed, owing to the fact that they are believed to lead to gambling problems more than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma law have changed to permit gigantic Indian gaming casinos. You will now see Amerindian casinos with slots, video poker and vingt-et-un tables. Craps and roulette are still not authorized in the American Indian gambling dens as of yet, although that is only a matter of time. No one can say with what having other games in the bingo parlors will do for the draw of bingo.
