Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. That is owing to the fact that the American Indian bands of Oklahoma have run Bingo sessions for ages. Guests from each of the surrounding states pile in trucks and head over to Oklahoma to play Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) was introduced after a benchmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year before. Since that instance, 23 of the 39 Indian bands located in Oklahoma have introduced gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the gaming rules, and today operate ten gambling dens of their own. Bingo was the game on which these gambling halls were founded. Electronic games like slot machines were not approved, on the grounds that they are believed to contribute to gambling dependency more than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma governing edicts has changed to allow for massive Amerindian gaming casinos. You’ll now find Native gambling dens with slots, video poker and vingt-et-un tables. Craps and roulette are not allowed in the Amerindian gambling dens yet, however that is just a waiting game. Nobody can say with what having other games in the bingo parlors will do for the appeal of bingo.
